I have copies of some of the issues of the Kirkes Cousins. I don't know how many issues there were, or if they are still being put together. I have the following issues:
Jan-Mar 1986
Apr-Jun 1986
Jul-Sep 1986
Oct-Dec 1986
Spring 1987
Winter 1987
I also have copies of several stories that were passed down and were typed up.
This is pretty much all I have. I don't have photos, since my grandfather threw them away in his grief when Nixie died. I don't have anything from my parents, since they unloaded 95% of everything when they became full-time RVers some years back. I tried to rescue some things, but I didn't catch everything. They never had much from the Harris & Kirkes side anyhow (long story).
So...I'm hoping to get reconnected and be able to understand more about my grandmother and her family. I remember my great-grandfather, Paul Eugene Kirkes, from a visit he made when we were in Kansas for a few years, but a lot of my other memories are very confused, because of insufficient contact.
Sooo, is there a Kirkes reunion? Last time I remember seeing that part of my kin was when Nixie Harris passed. She was the eldest of Paul & Evelyn Kirkes. As I recall, Mary Scott (or maybe it was Egbert; for some reason, I always link Scott to her name) was there in a wheelchair with someone helping her.
