Could you fill me in on the families that went to Texas. I don't have much on some of the family. My grandfather, Ed Harris, who married Nixie Kirkes, Paul Eugene Kirkes' eldest daughter, didn't allow her to maintain close connections and therefore the rest of the family is pretty much names only to me. I remember a few here and there and know that my youngest sister is named for Sue Carol Kirkes. I just wish I knew more and where they are. Do you know of family reunions? Is there a mailing list? I've never seen it on rootsweb.com. Is this the only communication tool used rather than phones and snail mail? I know that nearly all my addresses are no good, since they are over 10 years old. I'm in Plano, TX so it is a shame if I've been this close to kin all this time.
Once I went to Yell County looking for local info on Kirkes' but apparently I was unlucky or something, because no one seemed to know of them and the library's genealogy information in the area didn't reveal much. Most of what I have is from "Kirkes Cousins" which my grandmother let me copy about a year before she had a major stroke and lost her ability to talk and walk.
I know that Mary Scott attended her funeral, but I don't remember anyone else. They probably all are passed or near it, but I would like to fill in the details any way and get to know some of those cousins.
