Read your posting and really wonder if my Robert Milton Kirkes, b: 1837(?) SC could be the fourth listing child---M. Kirkus, birth about 1825. Robert m: Martha Ann Lay, b:1842, Jackson Co., Ga. They had two sons born in AL, daughter in Tn, two in Ar & the rest in Tx. The Kirkes clan was in Tx by 1880s. I have come to a dead end on my research of Robert. I know he and Martha buried in Ok.

Any info greatly appreciated as I said, came to dead end.
