Susan Kirker b. abt. 1802 m. Rice PA>IN
Hi,
I have a new e-mail address [email protected] so I won't be notified of replies to my old posts.
I am still searching for any information on Susan Kirker b. 1802 married to Simon Rice. They were in Butler County, PA in the 1820s and 1830s and in Indiana state by 1860. Their son, William Rice, was in Jefferson County by 1850, living beside John and Sydney Kirker in 1860. What relation John Kirker is to Susan is not known for sure. Also from Butler County, is Sarah Ann Kirker Thrush d/o John and Sarah Kirker b.1814 m. Samuel Thrush in 1838 and died in Jefferson County, PA in 1884.
Also in Jefferson County, PA, John Kirker b. 1769 served in the Revolutionary War, in Pattons Company ofArty Artificers under General Knox and saw active duty in the PA Line. Tax rolls in Jefferson County in 1839 show John, Joseph, and John Kirker, Jr.1840 lists John, Jr., James, and William J. Kirker. 1844 shows John crossed out.
If anyone has information that could shed light on how these Kirkers are connected, please contact me.
I am also interested on any information on a Ella or Cella Bruher Kirker, who was married to George Joseph Rice, They may be my Simon Rice's parents. I am not sure if Ella was the widow of a Kirker or is Bruher is her mother's maiden name, but the Kirker/ Rice connection in both cases has me really curious. They are supposed to have lived in Butter Creek, PA(I haven't been able to find the location of this town) and also moved to Harrison County, Indiana.
I have seen postings of Susan Kirker Rice having been born on Dec. 1, 1802 and died on Oct. 1, 1881 but so far I have not been able to document this.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Paula
