My naive request 3 years ago received no responses! I'm older and wiser now.
There was no Charles Kirby. The great grandfather I was seeking 3 years ago was actually a German named Friedrich Wilhelm Schulz, a family secret/skeleton.
Nevertheless there are still Kirbys 2 generation back. Kirby just skipped a couple of generations.
Now I'm looking for William Kirby (a greatX3) grandfather born abt 1800 in Ireland. He married Euphemia (Effie)Talbot in St Thomas Church of Ireland, Dublin, Ireland on 2 June 1823. They had 3 sons (Edward, Thomas and John)born in Ireland and 2 daughters (Alicia and Charlotte) born on Liverpool England in 1834 and 1836.
William and Euphemia's marriage announcement was published in the Connaught Journal at http://www.irelandoldnews.com/Galway/1823/JUN.htmlhttp://www.irelandoldnews.com/Galway/1823/JUN.html and it reads as if he came from there, rather than his bride.
The marriage was conducted by Rev Edward Kirby, not the resident vicar at St Thomas, and not on the Church of Ireland's register of resident vicars of Dublin diocese at the time. Probably a close family member - brother or cousin of William's.
1841 Living Brunswick Tce Birkenhead (Wirral hundred), Cheshire. He was a bailiff.
1851 Living 46 Stafford St Liverpool. He was a bailiff.
Died somehwere between 1851 and 1861 censuses, Cannot find his death in Liverpool, England .
His wife Euphemia died in Liverpool in November 1867 and was buried at Necropolis burial ground, Daybrook, Liverpool.
Of his sons: John was a sheriff's officer/ bailiff, Edward was an auctioneer, Thomas was a chemist/druggist. They lived in Liverpool too.
Has anyone heard of this family?
