Kirk's and the Indians
My gr gr grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Kirk had seven childrenin Giles County, VA.My great grandfather was told his father was Indian.Pictures just about verify that fact but I'm not sure if the father was Cherokee. However, after further research, the name Kirk is a Cherokee name and this is even more complicated to work on due to limited records on Indians in Virginia at that time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
