Jerrilynn, My cousin, Lucien McNeese wrote the book "Kirk And Related Families" which you can obtain throught the nearest LDS Family History Center. On Page 11, he states that Jeremiah Kirk and Anne Thomas had a son, Jeremiah Kirk, Jr., born in King George County, VA about 1760. He moved over to Stafford County, VA. on 120 Acres given to him by his father. The land was situated near Holloway's Mill on a small tributary that ran into the Potomoc River. Jeremiah married married Anne Monroe, born 1771,in Westmoreland County, VA, 18 August 18, 1785. Her parents were George Monroe( who died in 1771, the same year it seems that Anne was born, ) and Peggy ??. (The Monroe information is found on Page 13-16.) They were married in St. Paul Church records - King George and Stafford Counties. Anne was the second sousin to Presiden james Monroe, said to have oftern carried her children to the White House, when James Monroe was President. Jeremiah Kirk, Jr. died in 1819. It makes no mention of his having served in the Revolutionary War, he would have been about 16 years old when it started, so he may have. Their children were (1)Mary b 1787 in Stafford County, VA (2) Margaret Kirk, b 1786 Stafford County, VA M Abner Schoolar or Shooler bef 1819. Jeremiah is the father of my great great grandfather, William Kirk married to Rebecca Billingsley. Jeremiah's will is on page 12.
