I am hoping that someone has in their family tree, Warren Kirk, b. 23 Apr 1855, Fairfield, Jefferson, IA; m. Nancy J. Smith (b. 1865) on 31 Jan 1878. They are on the 1880 federal census in Seneca, Nemaha, KS, with Nancy's brother George Smith. George is my great-grandfather. In 1885, Warren is back in Lockridge, Jefferson, IA, with a new wife, Ella Kinney. They are sandwiched on the 1885 IA census by (probably) Ella's parents, and Warren's sister Polly and her husband Jacob Smith, who is George Smith's brother. Warren and Ella have a new baby, William A. Kirk What I am hoping to find out is what became of Nancy. Did she die? Did they get divorced, and if so, did she keep the Kirk name, or did she revert to Smith? Did she get remarried? Did she stay in Kansas, or move back to Iowa, or to parts unknown? If anyone has any answers to these questions, or can think of any way I can get answers, I would greatly appreciate it. Ultimately, I would like to find out what happened to George Smith, my GGF; he died in 1892, but I am not sure if in Kansas or Iowa. I thought going through his siblings and children would help me get to him eventually. TIA, Rosemarie (Smith) Beebe Notify Administrator about this message?
