He lived in Grayson County 1793 to 1807, moved to Russell County, VA and stayed there for 5 years, and returned to Grayson(1813 personal property tax list(exempt probably neans he is up in age) A Henry also shows up along with Jacob in 1817 pers.tax list and 1820 census. In the early 1820 Jacob bought land in Smyth County and moved there. If still alive, Henry probably also mioved. No Kirks in Grayson in 1824.
My interest in Kirks is Samuel who lived there at the same time as Henry, possibile brothers. Samuel went to Russell County a couple yrs earlier. In 1810 Samuel and his married son George and the Staleys(in-laws) all moved to Montgomery, TN. I have not been able to tract the Grayson Kirks back beyond 1793. I have followed several leads in VA, PA, and England but no luck yet.I have lots of info including copies of deeds and I have driven into the valley near Iron Mountain about 10 miles North of Independence, VA
