Greetings. I was fascinated when I came across your message quite by accident. One of my great passions is to find a living Kirk relative in modern Northern Ireland. Surely we must be related. Supposedly the first American Kirk in my line was a Stephen Kirk who came over as a child from Ballymoney Northern Ireland. The year was approximately 1740-1760 AD.
They came into Charles' Town, and settled in the counties around modern-day Charlottesville in North and S. Carolina. At some point they migrated to "Cathey's Creek" Tenneessee and then to Sardis, TX.
Your story about the Kirk brother's was very interesting. If you know ANYTHING about their relation to my line PLEASE let me know. Here are my precursors (from memory):
Stephen Kirk (the first)
Young Kirk
Hugh Cain Kirk
Robert Bruce Kirk
Thomas Jefferson Kirk
Robert Blair Kirk
Thomas Edward Kirk
Clayton Todd Kirk (me, age 36)
Thanks
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
