Coker/Kirk in AL/MS
I am looking for informatin concerning Beatrice Kirk b. Dec. 9, 1874 in Holly Springs, MS that married William Neal Coker b. May 4, 1866 in Coosa County AL.Beatrice, or Batty for short, had three brothers: Arch, Ozzy and George. Their father was William Harrison Kirk and mother was Judeth Ann Marks. Batty and William lived in Honey Grove, Texas where they had 10 children, one who was Bruce Coker, my grandfather.I am interested in talking to any one who might know this side of my family. My mother told me that George Kirk use to play the fiddle at the dances around this area (Honey Grove, Paris, Wolf City, Greenville, and Ladonia) before he went blind. Also the Kirks in this area were farmers. I am not sure what they grew, but Cotton was a big item in this area and the Cokers did deal in cotton.
