Hello, Carolyn ~
Don't know if I'll be able to help you, but we have a couple of names in common; i.e. "Logan" and "Carroll" or "Carrol", etc.My g-grandfather was George Mitchel Kirk b. 1807 in VA, county unknown. He and Rachel (Brown/Wilson) Kirk are in Jackson Co. TN on the 1850 census w/family.Do you have any connections to the Plumlee line? Two of the Kirk children married Plumlees.George's son John & wife Nancy Jane Plumlee Kirk had a son named Albert Logan Kirk b. 6/11/1880. George's youngest son was Dennis Carrol Kirk
b. 7/10/1850. The war scattered the family, with at least some ending up in Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Oklahoma. Let me know if this is any help, and good luck!
Othella
