I am hoping to exchange information with relatives I have yet to met. I would love to exchange what little information I have and hopefully learn more a bout Minnie Kirchgatter who married my Great Grandfather Fred Sillman.
All the information I basically have came from the Hard work and labor of Love that the Three Kirchgatter sister's did when they created the "Kirchgatter Kin" This book was compiled by Carol Whiteis, Margaret Daleske, Jean Fridlington, Jan 1978. (Written permission to extract family information from Carol Whiteis). Mrs. Myrtle (Hansen) Dougherty has sent me some correspondence about the Sillman side of the family. Margaret Daleske's son, John Daleske, who is keeping the Kirchgatter Kin updated, has also helped me with my research.
John August Kirchgatter was born February 10, 1834 in Jamaika, Brandenburg Prov, Prussia, and died February 08, 1915 in Grafton, Iowa. He married Ulrike (Fredricke , Ulricka) Rack June 24, 1859 in Jamaika, Brandenburg Prov, Prussia. They had fourteen children:
1) Emma Maria Kirchgatter, born February 23, 1861 in Jamaika, Brandenburg Prov, Prussia; died June 25, 1933 in
Grafton, Iowa. She married Daniel Nack August 10, 1875 in Rock Twp Mitchell Co, IA.
2) Bertha Helena Kirchgatter, born February 23, 1863 in Jamaika, Brandenburg Prov, Prussia; died September 20,1949
in Corwith, Iowa. She married Ernest Moldenhauer October 05, 1882 in St John's Lutheran, Rock twp, Mitchel
County, IA.
3) Gustav August Kirchgatter, born December 01, 1864 in Jamaika, Brandenburg Prov, Prussia; died May 10, 1931 in
Grafton, IA. He married Emma Bertha Walk April 19, 1895 in Hancock County, IA.
4) Minne Louise Kirchgatter, born December 19, 1865 in Jamaika, Brandenburg Prov, Prussia; died February 19, 1936
in Canby, Minnesota. She married Ferdinand (Fred) Gust Sillman January 01, 1890 in Hancock County, Iowa.
5) August Fred Albert Kirchgatter, born December 22, 1867 in Watertown, Wisc; died May 11, 1956 in Nora Springs,
IA. He married Ida Bertha Lisse Kirchgatter December 12, 1890 in Rural Corwith, Ia.
6) Adolph Fritz (Fred) Kirchgatter, born November 01, 1870 in Rock Twp, Mitchell County, IA; died August 03, 1950
in Britt, IA. He married Martha Katherine Scheffelman March 10, 1898 in Magor Twp, Lutheran Church, Rural
Corwith, IA.
7) Willie Kirchgatter, born August 05, 1872 in Rock Twp, Mitchell County, IA; died August 03, 1883 in Rural
Corwith, IA.
8) Emil Kirchgatter, born September 20, 1874 in Rock Twp, Mitchell Co., Iowa; died October 10, 1899 in Rural
Corwith, Iowa.
9) Franz Albert Kirchgatter, born December 05, 1875 in Rock Twp, Mitchell County, IA; died December 06, 1948 in
Fairmont, MN. He married Anna Kraemer February 26, 1901 in German Lutheran, Rural Corwith, IA.
10) Anna Kirchgatter, born February 04, 1878 in Mitchell County, IA; died August 02, 1883 in Rural Corwith, IA.
11) Heinrich Hermann (Henry) Kirchgatter, born June 25, 1880 in Rock Twp, Mitchell County, IA; died April 02,
1922 in Denver, CO. He married Augusta Fink November 27, 1902 in St Cloud, MN.
12) . Ida Emile Kirchgatter, born July 07, 1882 in Rural Corwith, IA; died August 03, 1883 in Rural Corwith, IA.
13) Ulricka Kirchgatter, born August 1883 in Rural Corwith, IA; died August 04, 1883 in Rural Corwith, IA.
14) Herman Adolph Kirchgatter, born October 01, 1885 in Rural Corwith, IA; died December 31, 1938 in St. Paul,
MN. He married Mary Staub.
