I have some information that may help, I have had this so long my paper has turned yellow. This was compiled by the Monroe County Ky. Historian in the 70's (Dayton Birdwell).
Robert Kirby was born abt 1769 in Virginia. He is of English descent. he was on the battlefield at the surrender of Cornwallis. On this occasion Robert became acquainted with Kesiah McCoy who also witnessed the surrender of Cornwallis. They later were married, and soon moved to Kentucky.They settled on Mill Creek in Monroe County Ky, on 4-7-1799. Robert received a hundred acre land grant on Mill Creek. He received 50 more acres on Mill Creek 8-2-1807. He also had two fifty acre grants in 1826-1827 on Big Barren River. Robert & Kesiah attended church at Mill Creek, which later became known as Old Mulkey Meeting House near Tompkinsville Ky.
