Hi Chuck,

I am not a Kipps descendant, but I do have a Kipps that married into my Wysor family of Montgomery/Pulaski Co. VA who I would like to try to get more information about.

Gordon Songer, b. July 4, 1810 Montgomery Co. VA, son of Jacob and Eve Anderson Songer, married Elizabeth Kipps on March 17, 1870 in Montgomery Co. VA. Their marriage record lists her as 27 years of age and born in Montgomery Co. VA, but doesn't list her parents. Gordon was a widower (and quite a bit older than Elizabeth) and he and his first wife had moved to Macon Co. IL. Gordon and Elizabeth (Kipps) also went to Macon Co. IL after they married. He died in Macon Co. on Jan. 4, 1882. I don't have anything further about Elizabeth. I believe I may have found her on the 1860 VA census living in Montgomery Co. with Stewart and Gabriella Argabright (page 706). Doing some web surfing it appears Gabriella was a Kipps, so I am guessing that Elizabeth may have been her sister, but then again, I'm not even sure this is the Elizabeth Kipps who married Gordon Songer in 1870.

Any idea who this Elizabeth Kipps is, and do you have any further data on her (parents, birth date, death date)?
