I have seen this information, thanks for providing it to this board. Lazarus was really 36 years old at the time of this baptism. He is the only Everhart in Oregon at that time. His trip via the Oregon Trail in 1844 and subsequent trip into California in 1845 are well documented by James Clyman, who kept a diary both wagon trains.
I don't know if the age discrepancy is an error by the person who recorded the baptism, a misread by the researcher/printer of the book, or if it was done on purpose in order to present Lazarus as a lifelong Catholic (as he was raised in the Lutheran faith), to the authorities in California, which was still held by Mexico at that time. Lazarus never married, but led a most interesting life.
