Johanna Kinneally -m- Henry Rache' (or Rache)
Henry Rache' (b: April 1860, IL; d: April 28, 1894, Chicago, IL)
-m- circa 1890 to
Johanna Kinneally (b: abt Jun 1871, Chicago, IL; d: May 12, 1898)
He died the day before his second daughter, Ellen (Helen), was born. He was at first interred at Calvary Cemetery, Chicago, IL (April 30, 1894). The cemetery records there are mistakenly under "Roche". His sepulchre was later transferred to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Chicago, IL for reburial alongside his wife ---in the Kinneally plot--- after she died (November 01, 1898). Family lore says Johanna died of a broken heart ---never fully recovering from the timing of his death and the birth of her last child.
His Death Certificate has him as always being a resident of the state of Illinois, but subsequent census records indicate he was born in Germany. The latter is probably an error, as his mother is listed as born in Ohio, so he was more than likely born in the USA. He was believed by the family to be part French (father) and German (mother), possibly an Alsatian.
The 1880 Federal Census doesn't seem to have him, the 1890 census burned-up and is gone, and HE was gone by the 1900 census. Also, the newspaper (and any obituary) for the day he died never made it to any microfilm records.
They had two children, Mary C. and Ellen (or Helen) Henrietta Rache'. Helen was my grandmother.
Any info on this individual welcome.
