I have been off the net for a long time due to illness. Hope your address is still current. I can't remember if I had answered.
We heard the same story about Lee Brown Kinnard so it must be true. However, I did not know his real first name was Lemuel, as was his fathers. His father registered to vote in Tarrant County, Texas in 1867. At the time, he had been in Texas 20 years+ and stated born in SC.
I so not have further information on Benjamin Birl Kinnard.
