John Kinkaid 1826 PA. - to Iowa

In the History of Clinton County, Iowa 1879 there is a short biographical sketch of John Kinkaid, farmer, born 1/09/1826 in Cumberland Co., PA.. He came to Scott Co.,Iowa in 1848 and 4 years later settled in Clinton Co.. He married Mary Burneyham, of Queen's County, Ireland, on 3/97/1858. Children: John H., David A., Kate I., ELizabeth B., Mary V. and Francis A.. During the Civil War he was a member of the 14th Iowa Volunteers, Co. K.

Not a family line of mine - just offering info.
