Herb,

All I know about him is that he died in 1870 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, New Jersey.

I found an old list of veterans and his name is on it as a Civil War veteran, but there is no record of him having served. Of course there is always the possibility that he served under and alias.
