There are at least 4 books I know of on the King Philip War. They all mention in varying degrees the Sudbury fight where 30 English were killed. None mention your ancester by name that I have found. There are references to Mary Rowlandson being present as a captive observing the Indian preparations for the attack. She wrote her story, but I don't recall what the title is.

The books are "Flintlock and Tomohawk" by Douglas Edward Leach,
"After King Philips War" by Colin G. Calloway,
"Diary of King Philip's War 1675-1676" by Col. Benjamin Church,
and "The Name of War" by Jill Lepore

I bought them at a bookstore in Newport, RI a couple of years ago and at the Haffenraffer(sp) Museum in Bristol, RI

Good Luck
