Well, I took a quick look and found Capt Sam'l Smallcorn
mentioned in "Colonial Village" (Kittery Point, ME) by John E. Frost, pub. 1947. He was listed as former officer on Raleigh (continental frigate) engaged in privateering.

Capt. Smallcorn bought the Pepperell Mansion from the Commonwealth of Mass in 1793, which had been confiscated from the Pepperell family. Is this the same Smallcorn you're researching? If it is, the book above mentioned more on this Smallcorn family can be found in "A record of the services of the Commissioned officers of Kittery...". Elder Mark Fernald wrote an autobiography and mentioned his birth in Pepperell Mansion, so he too may have mentioned the Smallcorn family.(?)

Capt Samuel's wife, Jane Smallcorn sold their property (incl. homestead) to Robert Follett (when her husband died) and purchased the Piggin house in 1797. Seems she had two children, the one that was mentioned is Sally who m/ first Rev. Jonas Hartwell (1761-1809) in 1794 (pastor of Congregational Church of Kittery Point) and then m/ Capt. Turner of Portsmouth, NH. The other child was not mentioned.

As both the Pepperell Mansion and Piggin house seem to have a history here in Maine, think you could find more info about them and pos more on Capt. Smallcorn. Have you tried googling them?

Well, I wish you luck in finding Elizabeth Smallcorn and hope she turns out to be the other child.
