Hi, I'll try to help. First, I suggest your friend obtain the death certificate of her father. As next of kin, she is eligible to request it. The death certificate will tell who his parents were. Then starting from that information, his siblings can be found.
Here is a census record that could be for "your" Robert William King. Does your friend know where her father was born? Names of his parents?
1940
Detroit, Wayne, Michigan
Leslie King 22 born 1918 in Michigan, laborer in a greenhouse
Betty King 20 born 1920 in Iowa
Robert William King 8 months old, born in Michigan
Residence in 1935: Fredrick Town, Madison, Missouri (both Leslie and Betty)
1940 is the most current census record available. If he was born a little after 1940, he won't show up in the census. Try also the Social Security Death Index (SSDI). I looked on Find-a-Grave and did not find a memorial to him there.
If you'll use upper and lowercase letters (instead of all caps) when you answer, that would be great.
