Hi, and thank you very much for your response to my query on re. our King family in Wake Co..
You mentioned John King being related to my George King in Wake Co. My George King was 65 in the 1850 census and so was his neighbor John King?????
Also, living next to each other, in that same census, were George King b. 1785, Alfred King b. 1817, John King b. 1785 and Duncan King b. 1811, and only 2 farms away.. Allen King b. 1810 and then Caswell King b. 1826.
A few pages further on in this 1850 census, there was another John King b. 1810 who was living next to James King born 1828.Is this the James King you are referring to?
I don't seem to see Smith King living near any of the above group in 1850 and can't figure connections between all these King's living next to each other.
Also, there was a Samson King, age 84 in 1850, born abt. 1766, living in that area of Wake Co.He seems to be the oldest King in that area of Wake Co.the 1850 census. I wonder how he fits in????
I also found that in the Olivia Raney Local History Library in Raleigh, NC that there is a collection of family files for "Kings" who lived in the Wake Co area. I don't have access to that collection but there might be a lead or two there. If someone has viewed this King collection, please let me know.
I really appreciate all info and would appreciate any else anyone might have or find regarding the connections of these King families in Wake.Mind boggling.....
Joy
