Hello, I am trying to find some information on a John King who was born somewhere around 1800 in South Carolina.

The first I can find him is in the 1860 Census of Paraclifta, Sevier, Arkansas.

His wife in this census was Melinda or Belinda.

I've seen a family tree online that shows his name as John Holley King and his wife as Belinda Perkinson.

They had the following children:

1. Mary King, born about 1825 in Georgia.

2. Nancy King, born about 1827 in Georgia.

3. Berry Ann H King, born about 1830 or so, married Pinkney M. Hickman in Cass County, Georgia on Mar 08, 1855. They both appear to be deceased by 1860, one daughter, California F Hickman who married George Wyman Doggett in Sevier County, Arkansas.

4. Emily S. King, born Jan 29, 1830 in Georgia, married first J. H. McDermond (sic) Sep 20, 1853, Cass County (Bartow), Georgia, second to Thomas More [Moore] Sep 27, 1861 in Sevier County, Arkansas and third to Alfred Kingree Jan 18, 1866 in Sevier County, Arkansas and died May 14, 1892 in Sevier County, Arkansas, buried at the Kingree Cemetery. 2 children, Martha "Mattie" Moore who married Anders Clere Lambright and Hilly McDermond who appears to have died or married off before 1870.

5. Epsy A King, born about 1837 or so Georgia, dead before 1860, married Joseph Furguson [sic] Sep 10, 1854 in Cass County (Bartow), Georgia on Sep 10, 1854.

6. Thomas Jefferson King, born Nov 1845 in Georgia, married Mary J Moser {Mosier?} Nov 19, 1868 in Hempstead County, Arkansas, died Feb 04, 1938 in Lockesburg, Sevier County, Arkansas, buried at the Lockesburg Cemetery.

Any information about anyone in this family would be appreciated very much.

Cary Rutherford
