For whatever reason, you have the wrong name for your grandfather King. Ancestry has Texas births with the maiden name of the mother, so I searched using Mary Shugart to find the birth records of those you mentioned in your post. The name of the father on record is Milburn Calvin King.

You are quite fortunate in that his obituary and that of his parents are online in GenWeb archives and can be obtained at no cost. You can either Google his name to get a link or go through GenWeb to the obituaries on the Milan County site.

If you are interested in serious research, a subscription to Ancestry.com would be your best bet because of the huge collection of Texas vitals they offer.

Finally, if you should desire to take it to the highest level an attempt at a DNA match would be in order.
