JoAnne—1860 Pontiac Twp, Livingston County, IL, has Napoleon B. Kindred, 28, master brickmaker, TN; Mary, 26, IN; Lewis E., 4, IL; Etheleen, 9 months, IL. This is a perfect match with Lewis Kindred in the 1880 census, where he says father born TN, mother IN, and his occupation is a brickmaker.

I also found Napoleon Kindred in the 1850 census. Peoria County, IL: Edward Kindred, 67, farmer, VA; Rachel, 41, AL, Napoleon 21, farmer, TN. Here Napoleon is the oldest of eight children listed. All but the last child are born in TN; the youngest, 3 months old, was born in IL. So Lewis’ father and his Kindred grandparents migrated to IL from TN between 1847 and 1850.

The Mormon IGI gives Rachel’s last name as Webb. –Cheers, Andy Adams in IL
