MARY ELIZABETH EASTON was born in Kentucky, Aug. 4th, l834, removing from there in childhood to Illinois, where she grew to womanhood uniting in marriage to JAMES KINDRED on March l6th, l856.
They moved the same year from Illinois to northern Missouri settling on the old homestead just to the south and west of Pleasanton, where MRS. KINDRED passed from this life on Jan. l9th, l922, at the age of 87 years, 5 months, l5 days.To this union were born twelve children, six of whom preceded her in death. She leaves her aged companion, with the following children to mourn her departure, MR. WM. KINDRED, of Eckley, Colo.; MRS. A.J. MOORE; MRS. A.J. KINDRED; MRS. HENRY HILL and MRS. EMMET (???TON), of Pleasanton, and MRS. CHAS. EDWARDS, of Gillette, Wyoming, 32 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Mother KINDRED has lived the greater part of her life in and around Pleasanton, where she had the most profound respect and love of all who knew her, being noble and honorable in all her traits of character. She was a mother to all who came under her ministrations, therefore we know her memory shall be cherished.Uncle JIM and Aunt LIB, as they were commonly known should be an example to all, as they grew older in years yet more devoted one to another. We know he shall be lonely and he has the sympathy of all in this his saddest hour.
Funeral services were held at the residence, conducted by W.L. Morey. Her body was laid to rest in the Easton Cemetery, there to await the resurrection of the just.
