In response:My maternal side are Kinards out of Newberry, NC.Easter Wyatt-Kinard and Peter Kinard were my grandparents. They are noted as far back as the 1860 Federal Census. At some point, Easter and Peter migrated to Clinton, SC.Their child was Nora (Jane) Kinard was born in Clinton (Census) and married Elliott Cunningham (I now nothing about Elliott - still looking for him on the census).Nora's youngest daughter was my mother, Jessie Belle Cunningham. The Census is full of African American Kinards.
