I am researching my father's family from Tyrone. His grandfather was James Cummings of Stewartstown b around 1871 and Jameses father is listed as John Cummings who married Margaret McManus. However the only marriage to a Margaret McManus I can trace a this time is for a John KIMMINS (in Ballyclog, Church of Ireland, 1858). My father says that the Cummings were regularly referred to as the Kimmins. Does anyone have any idea how or when the change occurred? Any info on the Kimmons in Tyrone much appreciated,
