I do know this much, as I am a Trees by birth and relative of the aforementioned, except Stiles. Anna Minerva Kimmel-Trees was my great, great, great, great grandmother. Philip was her brother. The oral tradition in our family states that Philip Kimmel & William Stiles were attacked and shot on the site of the cemetery accused of horse theft. Conflicting stories abound, but I can say for sure that William Stiles is the only Stiles marker in the cemetery. Some say they were innocent. We are told Stiles was simply a "friend."
