Thanks for the response. I suspected it was him.
My gg grandfather wrote down what he knew about his family in the 1880s in the back of his father's ledger. It has Lydia Bentzel marrying Cyrus Kimmel, and I found the date as 22 April 1838 in the Stark County records. Since there is no futher information on Lydia, I presume she must have died young (perhaps in child birth) and Cyrus married again.
Lydia was an older sister of my gg grandmother, Catherine Bentzel.
