I am looking for the parents of Elijah Kimberling born between 1792 and 1800. He married Louise Ann Reynolds January 26, 1825 in Mason County, WV. Elijah and Louise had the following children; Elijah, Morris, Nancy, Sarah Harriet, born 1834 in Mason, WV. She married AT Morris, Lawrence G, born 1835 in Mason, WE, died March 18, 1902 in Grinnell, IA, Marcus born 1839 and Louisa born 1844. Morris is my line. He married Mary Barnett , October 8, 1847 in Mason WV. Their son Vinton married Harriet Rebecca Freeland November 24, 1870 in Wayne County IA. Vinton & Harriet moved to Western Nebraska.Elijah has been thought by some to be the son of Adam & Nancy Davis Kimberling. He was in Mason County West Virginia, and his descendents were also in Wayne County Iowa where many of Adam's family moved. No one has been able to come up with any proof of this relationship. The 1994 Kimberling Kobold listed this Elijah Kimberling as the son of Jacob and Nancy Stonestreet Kimberling, with Elijah's birth listed as Jan 25, 1807. The 1830 census of Mason County WV lists Elijah Kimberling age 30-39 with a female age 20-29, a male under 5 and 2 females under 5. The 1840 census shows Elijah age 40-49, a female age 30-39, the same 3 children as in 1830 plus a female age 5-9, male age 5-9 two males under 5. This Elijah is not on the 1850 census. We have assumed that Elijah and his wife Louisa died in the Cholera epidemic of 1840-9. One the 1850 Census Morris age 25 is listed with his son Vinton age 2. Also in Morris' household are his brothers and sisters, Nancy age 22, Sarah Harriet, age 16, Lawrence G age 13, Marcus age 11, and Louisa age 6. We assume that Morris's wife Mary Barnett who he married 8 Oct 1847, died shortly after the birth of their son Vinton. The census records from 1830 and 1840 would put Elijah having been born between 1791-1800. There is another Elijah on the 1850 census that per the census would have been born in 1810. This Elijah is probably the one that is the son of Jacob. This still leaves me not knowing who the father and mother of my Elijah are. Does anyone out there have any answers?
