You wrote to me on ancestry/KIMBER page but I don't get a box to put my reply in so, as this works, here is my reply on genforum.
I have ancestors in both Milton AND Great Milton so I constantly confuse the two. My g/g/grandmother, Elizabeth SURMAN (dau of Martha KIMBER), was married in Gt Milton in 1855. She married a guy from Harwell. I read Pete's e-mail before I started posting this and see that he mentions Harwell too. Harwell isn't very far from Milton...or is it Great Milton... I could easily bicycle between the two...and I'm old!
As I understand it, there are two KIMBER families and two SURMAN families in the Headington/Horspath area. Neither of the two similar names are proven to be related but I have the two SURMAN fams marrying into my KIMBER family.
The name John KIMBER is awfully generic and I do not have a very complete picture of my KIMBER ancestry. I don't believe I've ever seen Steventon pop up with any of my KIMBER family.
I'll e-mail you my KIMBER file but I believe I've done that before...and there have been few new additions.
