Fascinated that you have have found evidence that SW Kilvert (Sr born in England) was involved with coal and using slaves precivil war. I found SW Kilvert, Sr. and his wife enumerated in the 1860 census for Providence, Rhode Island. But, of course, just because they were "living" there for census purposes doesn't mean that he didn't have interest in coal and slaves.....
What is the source of the coal/slaves info? (that is, How would we footnote this information or how could another researcher verify or further explore this info?)
