Jan,

Don't know if this helps any, but I have an Alice, maiden name unknown, who was born about 1785, married to a Bartley (possibly short for Bartholomew) Kilpeck. Family is living in Rochester, NY on the 1850 census. Per the census, Alice was born in Ireland, as were all three of her children, Edward, Ellen and Martin. Of course, census information isn't always correct. Bartley dies in 1852, and his will leaves everything to his wife, so she is alive then, but I've been unable to find her on the 1860 census. Is this the Alice that you are looking for?

Bethany
