Bill,
I am a decendant of William and Mary Barclay both b. 1669 who are buried at Middle Octorara.Noticed your 2005 posting about the Kilpatricks and just thought I would get in touch.
I am trying to find out more inforamtion about James M. Kilpatrick who shows up as a witness to the will of a JOHN BARCLAY of HARFORD Co., MD (1746-1800) - and a William James Kilpatrick / Margaret Martin Kilpatrich who are listed as grandchildren of William C. Barclay b. 1754 and Sarah Cooper.
I am trying to draw the line that connects the composer Stephen Collins Foster of Pittsburgh (through his grandmother Ann Barclay) to Judge John Rowan of Bardstown, KY (owner of Federal Hill - "My Old Kentucky Home) - and it looks like it centers on a BARCLAY-COOPER marrige and a ROWAN - COOPER marriage (John Rowan's father William Rowan married Sarah Elizabeth Cooper in Peach Bottom, York Co., PA).
I am descended from William Barclay, Jr. d. 1757 (buried in Middle Octorara) and I know he wasn't part of the picture, but perhaps his brother Hugh Barclay of Colerain Township 1702-1864 was.
What can you tell me aobut James M. Kilpatrick and William James Kilpatrick that would connect them to my Barclay family somehow?
Thanks so much,
Arthur Humphrey
