I also descend from Asa Ellison and his first wife Elizabeth Kilpatrick. (Note that Elizabeth Kilpatrick Ellison died around 1800-1804 - and Asa remarried another Elizabeth - I think her last name was Pennington and had more children with her - the Elizabeth showing up in the Knox & Whitely KY records is his second wife). Asa and Elizabeth Kilpatrick Ellison's son Thomas Ellison, b. abt 1789 married Alice Olive Cox in 1806 in Knox Co., KY. Thomas & Olive moved with Olive's parents, Solomon Cox Jr. and Martha (Dixon) Cox to Ross Co. OH around 1810-1815 time period. Their daughter Anna Ellison married Joseph Ankrom and their son Archibald Ankrom was my ggggrandfather.
I think you may be missing a generation - I believe that the Elizabeth who married Asa was the granddaughter of Charles, not his daughter. His daughter Elizabeth married John Hogshead. Charles left a will in 1767 naming his dau Elizabeth Hogshead. I believe that the Elizabeth who married Asa was likely the daughter of Charles's son Alexander Kilpatrick & his wife Mary. Charles named 2 sons in his will, Roger and Alexander. Roger left a will later naming all of his children and Elizabeth was not one of them. However, Alexander had children too and was living in Greenbrier VA at the same time the Ellison's were and lived very close to them. Alexander was a deputy sheriff at the time of the Rev War and was reimburesed for guarding Tory prisoners. Later however, he was dismissed from office for letting a Tory escape. I'll post more on the extensive property records showing the Ellison's and Kilpatricks.
