Coats of arms were never granted to entire families, instead they were granted to an indevidual and then passed on to the first born son and slightly changed for the subsequent sons. Also the daughters did not receive the arms except in cases of nobility and then it was quartered with her husbands arms. So unless you can trace your family (father-son, father-son) you do not have a coat of arms. Incidentally, the coat of arms system only began in the 1500's and gained in popularity in the 1700's. So you may not find a coat of arms that is legally yours. You could always apply for arms.
