Killough Massacre, 1838, Texas
After going to the various websites and reading all the articles about the Killough Massacre, I guess I have about a million questions. First, does anyone know the names of all the settlers at the Killough site? So far, I have Isaac Killough Sr., his wife Urcey, his four sons, Samuel, Isaac Jr., Nathaniel, and Allen, and his two daughter, Polly and Elizabeth. Allen was single. Isaac Jr. was married (children?), Nathaniel was married with children, Samuel was narried to Narcissa Norris and had a son, William Baykin Killough.Either Isaac Jr. or Nathaniel was married to Jane (Woods?). Polly Killough was married to Owen Williams and they had at least a daughter - was the daughter's name Elizabeth?Did the Woods family make it to safety? Narcissa Norris Killough and son William, Urcey Killough, and Jane Killough made it to Fort Lacy.
OK - was Jane the wife of Isaac Jr. or of Nathaniel? Or were both men married to women named Jane? Who were the Woods related to in terms of the Killoughs?
I am a descendant of Narcissa Norris Killough Sammons through her second marriage to John Reed Sammons, following Samuel Killough's death.
