Hi, Joyce!

Thanks for responding to my posting!

You mention that the 1850 census has one child of James and Matilda. Does it give a
name? Is this the child that your husband descends from? Do you show them as having
a daughter named Missouri, or a son named James?

I've been trying to put all Killmans in my database in the hopes that at some point I'll be
able to tie them all together. I have your James and Matilda in my database. I also have
a James KILLMAN b. abt 1818, son of James and Jinsey KILLMAN. The birth year
is not far off of your James, so it could be the same person. For what it's worth, here are
my notes on James and Matilda:

1840 -
1850 -
1860 - based on volunteer lookup, no Killmans in Pulaski Co., MO in 1860; based on
lookup, appears that they are in Pond Creek Twp., Greene County, MO in 1860. And
reportedly have a son, James, but James is only 1 year old. That would make this James
about 9 years old in 1870, but the 1870 census doesn't show a James in their household,
however, it does show a daughter, Missouri, age 9. Did they have two children the same
age? Or was the age of James a mistake, and it really is my James who married Mary
Ella Brownfield?
1870 - Cullen Twp., Pulaski County, MO; page 201
1880 - Roubideaux Twp., Pulaski Co., MO; page 41
1890 - based on lookup, no Killmans in Pulaski Co., MO in 1890 special census
1900 - based on lookup, no Killmans in Pulaski Co., MO in 1900 census

Place of birth based on census.

1880 census shows father and mother as being born in NC.

Thanks again for your reply!
