I don't know if it helps, but there was a Boyer Killip who married Isabella Walkington in Warren County Illinois 10th March 1874. I have not been able to trace Boyer Killip in the Isle of Man - perhaps he was born in US or perhaps he changed his name from his birth-name. Isabella was born in Castletown, IOM in 1850 (Christening 22nd June 1850, her mother's name was Leonora Archibald). The records are on the IGI - I managed to trace the Walkinton paternal line back to Nicholas Walkington who married Margaret Corlett 14th September 1762 in Malew, IOM.

The Killip-Walkington link in Illinois looks promising for a Canada branch - only one little river to cross!!! - particularly with an earlier Leonora in the family (not a particularly common name at the time).

There are other postings in this Bulletin Board concerning Boyer Killip - other researchers may be able to help further.
