I found your messages of March 18, 1999, and February 17, 2000. I can tell you that I have all data on the Killinger family in Bergfelden (today part of the town of Sulz/Neckar, Wuerttemberg - not Wittenberg) and its ancestry. The family can be traced back to 1565 in Haiterbach/Black Forest, Wuerttemberg.
Joseph Killinger, rope-maker, b. March 15,1808, in Haiterbach, d. January 5,1846, in Bergfelden, married on February 20,1838, in Bergfelden Anna Maria Gruber, b. February 28,1811, in Bergfelden. After the death of Joseph Blasius his widow and the children emigrated to America. The data of emigration I have differ. Probably the widow Anna Maria was already before 1856 in America, came back to Germany and went then with her son Johann Martin to America again. The children of the couple, all born in Bergfelden, were:
Anna Mariab. March 3,1838
Johann Georgb. September 10,1840
Johannesb. October 31,1843
Johann Martin b. February 20,1846
Please, can you tell me in which years and with which ships the above mentioned members of this family went to America and in which port they arrived? Perhaps you can tell me something about their further destiny in America.
Of course, I offer you all information you want about the ancestry of this family.
I hope to hear from you.
Greetings form old Germany
Wolfgang Killinger
