Have you checked out Charles Smith?
How was he related to Theresa/Teresa Smith, they had to be related.
Saw this message from Linda Easman, you may have this or seen it.
Joseph T. Kilgore and his family, his brother Samuel and his family, and his sister Thursa/Thursey Ann and her husband John Pyle by 1820 were living in Covington, MS. Then by the 1830 census Joseph and family had returned to GA, but to Muscogee County, Columbus Township, where I found them on the census. So I think Eliza H. was born in Muscogee Co, GA. Between 1835, when John was born, and 1840, when the census was taken, Joseph Kilgore and family left GA.

In 1850 I found them in Harris County, TX.
