I am not positive on how to read Storch's record: Keicher, Conrad, child buried 15 Nov 1791.There is no record listing any of Conrad's children other than his will placeing son Conrad (Jr) as his son.So I have listed his children from Storch's record, clues from Conrad's will that are used with his inventory and settlement of estate and making them fit with the 1790 census which shows 4 males under 16. Conrad's last child, Peter was born Nov 1797 TN just after he moved to Washington Co, TN from Rowan Co., NC.Conrad at the end of things shows 4 sons, John 1775, Joseph 1779, Conrad, Jr. 1884 and Peter. So Storch's burial record helps rid of one male child in the 1790 census.Otherwise I just don't know what it means.
I think that I have done quite well with Conrad's children with no bible or a family list where as George Adam with a bible seems to have more problems. The one child that I feel certain of is the Afrisbron that was translated by German people. These same people said that Keicher (not knowing that it is the correct spelling) was Steicher or something like that.I think that George Adam's people should drop Afrisbron as a spelling and replace it with what the old German script says that it is, CHRISTIAN.Just as in KEICHER the h draws below the line like q, p, or f.The A is C.One needs to know this when reading the PA and other states Lutheran Church records dating in the 1700's.Other experts have stated that the name is Christian also.
Now for the Supplement to Conrad's Estate. It is in the Washington Co. Court House in Jonesborough, TN.It reads: Conrad Kyker's Estate.A supplementary inventory of the estate of Conrad Kyker, Dec_. 1830 November 1st.To cash recd. from the Clerk of the Court of Equity Rone County, North Carolina being a part of Christian Kyker's Estate which _____ to Conrad Kyker 27.00Filled in Sessions April 1831.Conrad Kyker, Exceutor of Conrad Kyker, Dec.I would like to add that of the 20 or so civil records in Rowan Co. not one time is Keicher the spelling for Conrad. He went to his grave spelling his name Keicher, however. The court house has given East TN St. University in Johnson City the old lose notes to place in their archives.I went through those papers about 3 years ago hopeing to find the supplement from NC, No Luck.To date this record has not been found in NC either.
I will stop here and do hope that I have answered most of the questions (clear as mud?).Some of the other questions are out of my research area but I will check again to see if I missed something.
