Thank you so much for all this! It clears lots up. And I believe you're right! As far as I can tell, Malinda is the person you've listed, and my husband's grandmother just knew of her as Malinda Hughes - not realizing that that was Malinda's second marriage name. Beulah was in her 80s when she was relaying her info, and I think she just assumed, or had heard, that Malinda was a daughter of a Thomas Hughes. I see that Malinda was, instead, a daughter-in-law of Robert Hughes, son of Thomas Hughes the elder. She married Robert's son John.
