Hi, my name is Michelle and I realize this post is a long shot, however...
10 years ago, while studying abroad in Europe, I met a very kind lady named Elizabeth Aschauer in Salzburg, Austria while waiting for a train at the city's station. We had a lovely conversation and she told me about meeting a soldier named John Kiger who was stationed at Camp Riedenburg in Salzburg from 1950-1954. He was from North Carolina and she said he had a sister named Mrs. Ruth Bowman from Winston-Salem, NC who was married to Mr. Leslie Bowman. She asked me all those years ago to see if I could somehow find their whereabouts for her... She was from Germany at the time (I have that address), but was visiting a friend in Salzburg when she met me.
I had promised to try all those years ago, and I did to no avail. All these years later, I have come across the paper where she wrote the information for me to remember. The memory sparked a renewed interest in fulfilling a promise and I have been searching online to see what I could find. I came across this forum and hoped that somehow someone could help :oD
