One of your John Kigers may be the man that I am looking for, too. An (Unknown) Kiger, b. betw. 1744-1764 approx.
was the father of Lewis Kiger, b. about 1807 in VA under
one tree and PA under another. They both died about 1863 in
Marshall Co, VA; so, I believe it's the same Lewis Kiger.
Have you been to Genealogy.com "Early Virginia Immigrants?"
In one family tree, Christian Geiger born 1750-1793 was
the father of Lewis and Andrew Kiger. Lewis Kiger fathered
Joseph Francis Marion Kiger b Feb 17 1851 in Marshall Co, WV. That Lewis Kiger married Jane Ann Bailey in 1831 from
OHIO.
I was hoping that Joseph F. M. Kiger was a brother to my
Lewis Kiger, but Lewis was born about 1807. In the NC
1860 Census, Lewis Kiger, SR, age 54 (b. abt 1806) was
born in NC. His son, Lewis Kiger, Jr. age 28 is listed.
They are in Forsyth Co, Bethania. Nancy Kiger, age 78,
is on page 389b. Elizabeth, age 54, and Mary Kiger, age 53
are listed on page 393b. There are many other Kigers in
NC, too.
Lewis Kiger was the father of James Kiger, the father of
Mary E. Kiger, who married my g-grandfather William Evans.
If you have found anymore info, I would appreciate seeing
it, too.
