I have just begun to really research Mary E. Kiger, b. about
1850 in WV. She decends from Unknown Kiger, Lewis Kiger,
and James Kiger. Lewis Kiger had a brother, Andrew Kiger about 1778-1830 from Marshall Co, WV. Lewis is listed in
one family tree as having been born in VA, but another says
he was born in PA. So,it could be two different men, but the
Lewis born in PA also died about 1863 in Marshall Co, WV
making them seem like the same one. Lewis only child listed
in one tree was Joseph Francis Marion Kiger. James Kiger,
possibly my g-g-grandfather (father of Mary Elizabeth Kiger)
was listed on the other tree.
Mary E. Kiger may have married William (S.?) Evans about
1870. They lived in and around Dunklin Co, MO. Their
daughter was named Martha and their son was John Wesley Evans. William Evans apparently died about 1882 and Mary
married a Jim (maybe James) Hollandseed/Hollinseed and
moved to Mississippi Co, AR around the Leachiville area.
Do you have anything on these families that you could share
with me, please.
Elizabeth Hatcher
