Kiah, Paul or Joseph 1900-1930 New Engla

Does anyone know about the name Kiah? I have not been to succesful trying to determine the origin of my maiden name. Seems like one of 2 brothers-one being my grandfather changed their name from Thibodeau to Kiah about 70 to 80 years ago. I have not been able to locate any relatives who has an answer for me. The name may have been derived from cayer, kier, or some other spelling. Any information I can get will be appreciated.

Thank you,
Lorraine
